Somerset Ale Chutney

This chutney combines seasonal vegetables, fruit and spices with ale from a local Somerset micro-brewery, Twisted Oak. This is one of our favourite chutneys to make as the smell takes us right back to childhood. Breaking the crust on the top of the fermenting beer was a much-loved chore! If you’re a beer lover then this is a must for you. This punchy chutney can take on the strongest of cheeses.

Ingredients: onion, swede, carrots, apple, cauliflower, garlic, tomato puree, sugar, cider vinegar, ground ginger, ground mace, MUSTARD POWDER, ALE – GLUTEN

How it all started…

We spent our childhoods roaming the hills and woods of the Welsh Marches. Foraging and self sufficiency in fruit and vegetables was our way of life and preserving our produce as the seasons unfolded was part of the rhythm.
